Position details 

Accrue is on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team and work on their product which rewards people while they save up for big purchases and help retailers attract new customers. They had a public launch 1.5 months ago, but they are just getting started. 

Having closed Series A (in which they raised 25M), they are a growing team and have a lot of work in front of them. You will be empowered to think big, invent on behalf of buyers and merchants, make judgment calls, and find elegant solutions to hard problems.

Project details 

The engineering and product team is building a rewards and saving platform for retail, utilizing neo banking techniques and solutions such as buy now - pay later financing schemes. The platform is a fintech solution for buyers, but also offers solutions for marketplaces. They plan to build a marketplace in the following period. 

Key responsibilities 

• Collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of successful systems and services in support of our product

• Help define secure, scalable, distributed, and event-driven systems

• Work with extraordinary teams delivering demanding projects

• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions

• Understand system interdependencies and limitations.

• Share your knowledge of the most effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methods

• Work closely with other engineers, UX designers, and product managers to develop friendly UI experiences

Requirements 

• Has experience with TypeScript (must), Node, and React  (must have experience with both, or must be very strong in one and able to work with the other)

• Has experience in Front-end, familiar with CSS, HTML

• Has a BS in Computer Science or other related fields and 2+ years of experience in software development

• Has well-rounded engineering skills and full-stack development experience (web+services) 

• Has an upper-intermediate level of English knowledge (professional verbal and written communication) 

• Is a conscientious person, open to diversity

• Is able to work asynchronously in remote teams while being open to listening and taking suggestions from others, as well as being willing to mentor and make suggestions to others

• Coming from a product dev environment

Bonus skills

• Experience working in distributed remote teams

• Experience working in a startup environment 

• Not being afraid to voice opinions and make technical decisions on your own, but also being open to listening to other people's suggestions

• Experience with Next.js, Nest.js, AWS, Shopify, Unit, Plaid
