Position details

As a Java Engineer, you will work with Engineering teams based in Dublin and the US to help deliver identity assurance solutions. As a member of the company's flagship product development team, you will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle and be responsible for them. You will play an important role in the evolution of the product and the implementation of new biometric technologies as they become available.

Project details

The project you’ll be working for currently processes over 150 million biometric authentications per day, across six continents. Some of the leading clients are Mastercard Visa, BNP Paribas, SMBC, Denver Airport, PayPay, USAA Bank, and many others.

To make the client's flagship platform better, safer, and simpler to use, you will be in charge of the ongoing enhancement of its products - such as Digital Onboarding and Authentication.

Key responsibilities

Working on the development, maintenance and product design, alongside other team members
Responsible for providing guidance, providing quality technical input, and bringing features from ideas to release
Responsible for providing advice to younger members of the team and participating in architecture design conversations

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to create solutions to different problems.
Experience working with most of the following technologies: Spring Framework, REST web services using Spring MVC, Hibernate (JPA annotations), and Soap Web services
Strong OO skills, familiarity with modern multi-tiered applications, and a good understanding of web technologies
Experience with any of the following relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
The capability to create automated test suites in order to ensure that software meets the expected criteria.
Good working knowledge of build and configuration management; SVN, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, JIRA, or similar tools.
The ability to work across all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with AWS is a plus
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
The ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Mandatory

A minimum of 5 years of Enterprise Java experience with a product focus
Very good verbal and written English

Team

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a skilled team on the development of an in-house product with cutting edge technologies. In the current working team, there are 10 members with a seniority ranging from Intermediate to Senior. This team works using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
